The Macallan 15 YO Triple Cask Matured was released around Summer 2018. It has been matured in a combination of European sherry seasoned casks, American sherry seasoned casks and American ex-bourbon casks - hence the name triple cask.

You can buy the Macallan 15 YO Triple Cask Matured in Norway at NOK 1339, and directly from the distillery at GBP 100.

Nose: A mixture of light citrus notes, cinnamon, oak and dry cocoa powder. Vanilla and mandarin orange zest. A bit dry in overall character (yeah, I know - a dry nose - huh?).

Taste: Medium body delivered with silky perfection. Again the oak is quite noticeable. It is somewhat dry on the palate. It brings assorted fruits, milk chocolate and creamy vanilla.

Finish: Medium long finish. Remains dry all the way home. A touch of green herbs now. Lots of oranges. In fact the oranges become more and more defined and take more room sip by sip.

Comment: The certainly do know their stuff at Macallan. This is again a quality dram, but does it leave a lasting impression? It is a dram that treads lightly.
