This is one of the three Christmas releases 2020 from independent bottler the Dràm Mòr Group. The Linkwood 2010 10 YO has been matured in a single 1st fill bourbon barrel (cask 306772), yielding a total of 245 bottles.

Nose: A bit shy on first approach. With time it slowly opens up and I find cinnamon, milk chocolate, cocoa nibs and vanilla. With further time in the glass it just keeps opening up, developing and getting better and better. Almost sugary sweetness now, mixed with the ever more radiant fruitiness. Also leather, cigar box and toasted oak. In the background soft herbal notes.

Taste: Full bodied and then some. Chocolate and earthy cinnamon. White pepper and fiery chili - just for a brief moment though - then we’re back in the orchard nibbling ripe fruit straight from the trees.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Peppery and creamy vanilla ice cream. Orchard fruits, assorted nuts, cinnamon and mild oaky notes.

Comment: Linkwood can be really good, even at this young age.
