Las Vegas Select Club Canadian Whisky
Las Vegas Select Club Canadian Whisky, NAS, 40 %
Do you feel lucky? Do you have your lucky dice ready? Well then, let's try this "ultra premium" Canadian blended whisky. I have tried googling for a while, but I am unable to find who actually produces this whisky. The bottle says it is imported to the US by Elite Brands, and that it is craft distilled. That is certainly not much to go by.
You can buy the Las Vegas Select Club Canadian Whisky in the US at USD 16. In other words this is not priced as "ultra premium", unless that is secret code for "dead cheap".
Nose (17/25): Strawberries soaked in diluted aftershave, with lots of added sugar. Quite odd, actually. The alcohol burn is clear and present. This is not a whisky that has been given time to mature fully, and it is about as balanced as a an egg on top of a ten foot pole.
Taste (15/25): Aww, man! This is not good. It is raw, very raw. It burns with alcohol. There is no age statement on this product, and I can see why. I am not sure it has seen the inside of a barrel at all.
Finish (15/25): Blissfully short, although the burning sensation does stay with me a few seconds.
Balance (15/25): I have no idea what the idea is here. How is this whisky to be consumed? Who is the target group - dead drunk stag parties in Las Vegas, people so far into the fog of drunkenness that they are completely numb? I am feeling a bit sad right now.
