King Car Conductor Single Malt

King Car Conductor Single Malt, NAS, 46 %

King Car is the parent company of Kavalan, a Taiwanese whisky distillery I am sure you have heard of by now. Here we have a single malt from the Kavalan Distillery where the King Car brand is used. This is the first time they release a whisky without the Kavalan brand, as far as I know.

The King Car Conductor Single Malt is made 100 % from malted barley, and is matured in seven different types of casks; including ex-sherry, ex-bourbon and wine casks.

A bottle of this whisky can be yours starting March 6 in Norway at NOK 805 (11634301). It is available in the UK at around GBP 70.

Nose: A bit hard to pin down the nose here. It is elusive and shy. Caramel, vanilla and soft wine notes. Some oakiness, and a hint of alcohol.

Taste: Medium body. Not very complex, but solid. Mild caramel. Again some oakiness, tending towards the bitter side. Softly floral.

Finish: Medium long finish. Gradually turns more and more green. A dram for Greta, perhaps? Caramel and vanilla for sure. The wine notes are back right at the end.

Comment: Well.. it’s green, and certainly not mean.
