This is the 2021 release of the Kilkerran 16 YO from Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown. It has been matured in a mix of 75 % ex-bourbon casks, and 25 % ex-sherry casks.

Nose: Apples and toasted oak. Hints of vanilla and malt.

Taste: Medium body. Apples, ginger, and hints of unsalted peanuts. Mildly spicy.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Same as how it started really, but very pleasantly so. Love the landing here. Just the right sweetness, anchored with mild spices and the barest hint of oak.

Comment: Rock solid from Campbeltown.
