The Wiseman Bourbon from Kentucky Owl is a blend of four different Kentucky straight bourbons. Kentucky Owl contract distills with Bardstown Bourbon Company, and here they have blended their 4 YO wheat and high-rye bourbons, blended with a 5.5 YO and a 8.5 YO Kentucky-sourced bourbon.

Nose: Caramel, toasted oak, and oaky spices. With time warm and comforting notes of earthy vanilla and maple syrup. Tropical fruits on the barbecue slowly coming through as well.

Taste: Medium body and floral spices turned up to 11. This is over the top, but no reason to panic. Dry and peppery.

Finish: Medium long Very floral and green. Remains dry all the way, although there is more sweetness appearing towards the very end. Mint, cut grass and basil.

Comment: Rather dry for me, but lots of character.
