Kavalan Solist Rum Cask, 7 YO, 57.1 %

I have tried many great Kavalan Solist expressions over the years, but this is my first encounter with a rum cask.

The bottle I had my dram from was from cask M111104028A. The cask number indicates it was finned on 2011-11-04. The cask was bottled on 2019-08-20, with a total outturn was 154 bottles.

Nose: Tall, dark, and mysterious. But relatively soft spoken. Rum sure, vanilla yes, some fruits, not a whole lot more. Then with time it opens up and just starts growing.

Taste: Rich of body and sweetness. Dark caramel sauce over home made caramel pudding. Luscious plums and sweet rum.

Finish: Medium long finish. It remains rich and sweet all the way.

Comment: Intense and concentrated, like most Solist expressions from Kavalan. Not for the faint of heart, but very enjoyable!
