Jura One for You
This limited edition whisky from Isle of Jura Distillery is the third and final in a series. First we had the Jura One For The Road in 2016 (see review), honoring former Distillery Manager Willie Cochrane. In 2017 they released the Jura One And All, and now in 2018 we get the Jura One for You, which celebrates the entire Diurach (the Jura inhabitants) community.
The Jura One for You has been matured in a mix of ex-bourbon casks and virgin American oak casks.
The Jura One for You goes on sale in Norway on Thursday Nov 15 at NOK 1770 (10553901). It is also available in the UK at around GBP 130.
Nose: Vanilla and tropical fruits. Add to this coconut; both the nut itself and the milk, and you have a very fine bouquet according to my nosy nose. I also find hints of well-turned soil and sandalwood.
Taste: Medium body, and a slightly fizzy mouthfeel. Caramel sauce and caramel pudding with top notes of citrus (oranges and mandarins). Also tinned pears and white chocolate.
Finish: Medium to long finish. Continues much as it started. In addition there are notes of white pepper and honey.
Comments: A very fine dram, and one to make the Diurach community proud, I should think.
