Isle of Lime Tjaukle, 4 YO, 46.5 %

This is the third generally available release from Isle of Lime (Gotland Whisky) on the Swedish island of Gotland. The Isle of Lime Tjaukle has mainly been matured in 1st fill ex-bourbon barrels, but there are also a few fresh American oak casks in the mix. Out of the 26 casks used two were 96 litres and the rest were 200 litre barrels.

The Isle of Lime Tjaukle was launched for sale on 2019-06-03, in a limited run of 14 000 bottles. All tghe juicy details can be found here.

Nose: Light and tickling notes of ripe apples. Apple wax and honey in the back. With time there is also green pears, mild citrus and vanilla.

Taste: Medium to full body. Honey and ripe, green apples. Vanilla, white pepper and ginger root. Nuts and marzipan.

Finish: Medium long finish. More marzipan - now with a chocolate coating. The sweetness is still light. Honey with hints of apple juice. Spicy and oaky finish.

Comment: Easy drinking with lots of light fruitiness and laid back sweetness. Whisky for relaxing.
