Another release from Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door project. This bourbon is six years old, and has received an additional year long finish in new heavily charred American white oak casks - hence the “double barrel”.

The Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey goes on sale on Monday here in Norway and will sell at NOK 1020 (13745901).

Nose: Creamy vanilla and toasted oak. Warm and comforting. Ripe banana.

Taste: Medium body. Very dry and on the peppery side. Tropical fruits - banana in particular, but also mango and barbecued pineapple.

Finish: Medium long finish. Very dry all the way, but it is a spicy dryness, not oaky.

Comment: Well, it’s solid, dry and enjoyable.
