Habitation Velier WP Forsyths 2017 White Rum, NAS, 57 %

Forsyths White Rum is produced at Worthy Park, the oldest plantation distillery on Jamaica (established 1670, and producing rum since 1741). The distillation apparatus currently used is a double retort pot still from Forsythes. This is a molasses based rum with a high ester concentration.

The Habitation Velier WP Forsyths 2017 White Rum will be available to buy in Norway starting tomorrow, at NOK 950 (13562001).

Nose: Mild funkiness mixed with whiffs of a mechanics dirty overalls. Green grass. Hints of citrus. I can dig this.

Taste: Fiery and full bodied. Lots of pepper here; black, white, Szechuan, chili. Ginger and cinnamon. Amazingly complex.

Finish: Long-ish finish. Peppery all the way. Ginger and cinnamon again. Some fruitiness (orchard fruits) and a mild hint of funk and vegetables in the end.

Comment: I love Funky Town!
