Glenmorangie The Tarlogan
Glenmorangie The Tarlogan, NAS, 43 %
I'll post quick reviews of the three Travel Retail products in the Glenmorangie Legends series. The series consists of The Tarlogan, The Tayne and The Duthac.
The Glenmorangie The Tarlogan is a no age statement release that has been matured in virgin oak and ex-bourbon casks. The name is taken from the Tarlogie Spring, the distillery water source since 1843.
You can buy a 1 litre bottle of the Glenmorangie The Tarlogan at around GBP 98.
Nose: Soft spices, a bit indistinct at first. Vanilla, coconut, mild caramel, and a touch of sawdust. An alcohol nibble. More candy-like with time. Quite sweet. Marshmallows.
Taste: medium body and sweetness. Quite oaky in fact. Sawdust, vanilla, hint of tropical fruits. Grass and hay in the background.
Finish: Medium long. More vanilla now. Drier towards the end. Greener as well. Milk chocolate.
Comments: A fine dram with lots of vanilla notes.
