The Glenlivet arranged tasting sessions for Guardians (members of their 'fan club'). They were presented with three different samples, and made a choice as to which one they preferred. These tastings were held in many countries. In Denmark they held two sessions, with about 30 Guardians attending each session.

This whisky has been matured exclusively on refill sherry casks.

The Glenlivet Guardians Chapter is available to buy at Vinmonopolet at NOK 590 (item number 1293601), and at Systembolaget at SEK 595 (item number 85573).

Nose (23/25): Vanilla, nice sherry notes, a whiff of rubber. Appealing sweetness; baked apples, prunes, dessert like. Give this whisky at least half an hour in the glass and you will be rewarded! Mild spices, but a king's ransom in delicate and refined sweets. Wow!

Taste (22/25): Sparkling, dancing, whimsical sweetness. Vanilla, dried fruits and caramel.

Finish (21/25): Medium long, a bit thin. Nice warmth, warm caramel sauce.

Balance (22/25): A lovely Glenlivet. The Glenlivet 18 YO has always been a favorite of mine, but this might be even better. I love the fact that they went for a higher ABV here.
