Glenburgie 18 YO Ballantine’s Series No. 001, 40 %

Not very often we see official bottlings of Glenburgie single malt, but here we have one. Launched early 2019, and under the massive “umbrella” of the Ballantine’s brand.

The Ballantine's Glenburgie 18 YO Series no. 1 goes on sale in Norway on May 31 at NOK 730 (13175801), it is also available in Sweden at SEK 699 (47001).

Nose: Sweet and fruity. Strawberries with a medicinal touch. With time nuts and more fruit - apple, mango and apricot.

Taste: Medium body and medium sweetness. Sweet and fruity cold-pressed coffee with a few cocoa nibs thrown in just for fun.

Finish: Medium to long finish. More coffee, more cocoa nibs, and above this fluffy clouds of fruit. Vanilla, caramel and honey. Honey glazed apples in the end. Towards the very end delightful cold-pressed coffee and milk chocolate.

Comment: Love the coffee notes on the finish. If only they would have released this at 50 % or even 46 % ABV!
