Nose: Rugged and raw, but in a friendly way. Vanilla sweet wood smoke with a maritime touch. Sea spray, old coffee, smoked meat and hints of iodine.

Taste: Big and boisterous. Bearing its teeth and roaring fiery peat like a lion on fire, then it morphs into a sugary sweet and sooty pussy cat.

Finish: Medium long finish. More vanilla now, hints of sweet orchard fruits, and dry ashes. Peppery soot. Hints of toasted oak.

Comment: It is not complex or delicate in any way, but it brings me back to Islay, and that’s fine with me!
