Feddie Single Malt Whisky
Feddie Single Malt Whisky, 4 YO, 47.2%
We now celebrate another first, the very first single malt whisky released by Feddie Ocean Distillery, located on a small island off the west coast of Norway, near Bergen. Not only is this their very first whisky release, it is also launched as a core product, with a first batch of 6300 bottles. And these are 70 cl bottles! And the bottles are custom made, showcasing their 1003 female shareholders and the 521 people living on the little island with dots and dashes respectively.
Sustainability is a big focus for Feddie Ocean Distillery. The bottle is made from 52% recycled glass and is classified as lightweight with its 450 grams. The Feddie Single Malt Whisky is also a certified organic whisky, and the bottle comes with a screw cap to further bring down the weight and provide high quality.
The casks used for this whisky are predominantly 1st fill and refill ex-bourbon casks, with an added 14% ex-Oloroso sherry casks.
The Feddie Single Malt Whisky goes on sale this Wednesday at NOK 720 (18665101).
Nose: Fresh, fruity, and malty, with orchard fruits and a subtle hint of citrus. The alcohol is well-integrated, adding depth. Over time, notes of strawberry ice cream and a touch of pencil shavings emerge.
Taste: Full-bodied with a balanced sweetness and dryness. Orchard fruits take the lead, leaning towards tropical hints of banana and mango. Accents of black pepper, vanilla, and light floral notes round it out.
Finish: Medium-long, carrying the fruity profile throughout. Slightly drier and more floral as it settles.
Comment: Balanced, fruity, and effortlessly layered.
