This was the first release in the Cask Series from Famous Grouse. The Famous Grouse Bourbon Cask is a blended whisky that has been matured “mostly in American oak, including 1st fill bourbon casks” as they say on the official website.

You can buy the Famous Grouse Bourbon Cask in Norway at NOK 430 for a 70 cl bottle (10352401), and in Sweden at SEK 299 (8278501). In the UK a 100 cl bottle will set you back about GBP 30.

Nose: Roasted coconut, vanilla and ripe mango. Rich caramel sauce.Comes across as richer and rounder than the regular Famous Grouse.

Taste: Medium to rich body. Very sweet with classic bourbon cask notes of vanilla, tropical fruits and coconut. Almonds and hints of cinnamon in the back.

Finish: Medium long finish. Now also with honey and rich caramel sauce. 

Comment: Really enjoyed the sweetness on this one.
