The Famous Grouse 16 Year Old Double Matured blended Scotch whisky is a limited edition release, which has been finished in a combination of 1st fill Spanish Sherry casks and 1st fill American bourbon casks. The label is designed by the illustrator Vic Lee.

Nose (21/25): Soft, sweet, and pleasant. Smells like a big bowl of fruit candy, with a glass of sherry on the side. Caramel and runny syrup come through more and more.

Taste (18/25): Honey, pepper, chili, cinnamon and nutmeg. It does lack a bit of omph, that little bit extra.

Finish (19/25): Oily mouth feel, or is that sticky honey? Some oak and oaky bitterness on the finish. Reminds me a bit of honey flavored cough medicine.

Balance (20/25): A nice dram, but nothing very exciting.
