Fable The Captain’s Daughter - Batch 3, 8 YO, 46.5 %

Here is a blended malt from Fable Pendulum Spirits. This third batch was bottled 2022-07-11, and is limited to 9000 bottles.

Not a whole lot of details available, but they do say that it was “matured for a minimum of 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels and hogshead casks”.

Nose: Malty and rich with notes of ripe apples, banana split and toasted oak. With time also notes of coffee and dark chocolate.

Taste: Medium to full bodied. Quite the spicy ambush on the first sip. Where did that come from? Then, just as quickly the spices have skedaddled, leaving us with creamy vanilla, citrus and oaky spiciness.

Finish: Medium long finish. More of the same, then there’s a fine trace of fizzy ginger and strawberry milkshake. More toasted oak and a pinch of soot in the end.
