This is a blended whisky from independent bottler Murray McDavid. The Crafted Blend Half ‘n’ Half 2009 10 YO started life in bourbon hogsheads before a final finish in three sherry butts. The name refers to the components making up this blend, 50 % is single malts from Speyside, and the remaining 50 % is grain whisky from Girvan. This is a limited release of 1466 bottles.

You can order the Crafted Blend Half ‘n’ Half 2009 10 YO in Norway starting August 27 at NOK 850 (12066101). It is also available in the UK at around GBP 40.

Nose: Orchard fruits with a touch of grape fruit adding a bitter-ish note which works well. Ginger, vanilla and a soft oakiness.

Taste: Rich mouthfeel. White pepper, ginger, and red apples.

Finish: Medium long finish. Chocolate - actually a whole lot of chocolate. A hint of mint in the end.

Comment: A more than decent blend.
