Bruichladdich Octomore 13.2, 5 YO, 58.3 %

The second relesase in the 13th series of Octomore über peated whisky from Bruichladdich. This whisky is also peated to 137.3 ppm, just like the 13.1.

Matured exclusively in 1st fill ex-Oloroso sherry butts from Fernando dè Castilla. Produced using 100 % Scottish Concerto barley.

Nose: Rich notes of cereal and wood smoke. Ripe orchard fruits and creamy vanilla. With time dried fruits drizzled with decadent amounts of smoke infused honey. Dark chocolate and leather.

Taste: Very rich, big and bold. Sweet and spicy upfront, then the fruitiness quickly fades away. I’m left with drier notes of raw-ish peppery notes, toasted oak and earthy cinnamon.

Finish: Medium to short finish. Mix of assorted dried fruits and nuts. Remains dry and spicy all the way. Earth, wind and fire.
