The third of five entries in The Goldfinch - Wine Series. All expressions of Blair Athol single malt, all 14 years old and all finished in different wine casks. This particular bottling spent 13 years in an ex-sherry cask, then received an 18 month finish in a red wine Barrique from a Chateau in South of Pauillac in Bordeaux, France. Limited to 327 bottles.

Nose: Dried fruits and notes of mulled wine. Leather and sun warmed sand. With time also vanilla and hints of rubber tires.

Taste: Medium to full body. Somewhat spicy up front. Cracked black pepper corns, chili and a pinch of salt. Chocolate and red berries.

Finish: Medium to short finish. More red berries. Rather dry now and a little oaky.

Comment: Fresh in a mature way.
