An independent bottling from Goldfinch, distilled at Benrinnes Distillery. This whisky was distilled December 2008. Matured in an unspecified cask, and then finished in a single 1st fill ex-Amontillado sherry cask. Limited to 390 bottles.

Nose: Quite the fruity one. There’s all manner of ripe, orchard fruits as well as dried fruits and sherry notes here. Not very sweet, more relaxed, oaky and borderline dusty. Sticky toffee with time. “Now lean back”, as Fat Joe would say.

Taste: Fat and fruity! Sweet and rich. This is a dessert in a glass. The fresh orchard fruits and the dried fruits are all here, playing on so many levels. Mild spiciness add more depth.

Finish: Medium to long finish. The fresh and ripe orchard fruits have beaten the dried fruits into submission. White pepper and a green herbs sway onto the scene as the curtains close.

Comment: Lean back and do the rockaway!
