Benriach relaunched their core range this Autumn. One of the new expressions is the Benriach The Twelve. Matured for 12 years in three different types of casks: bourbon barrels, PX sherry casks, and port pipes.

This is an unpeated whisky.

The Benriach The Twelve is on sale in Norway at NOK 800 (10978201), and in the UK at around GBP 41.

Nose: Warm, rich and fruity. Orchard fruits, dried fruits and toasted oak. Hints of rhubarb, vanilla and citrus with time.

Taste: Medium body. Cherry flavoured chocolate. Mild notes of orange marmalade.

Finish: Medium long finish. Orchard fruits and dried fruits - all delicate and light. Dry-ish in character. Dark chocolate. Oranges as well as barbequed grapefruit and pineapple. Green herbs in the end.

Comment: Very fine!
