This is a heavily peated, double cask matured, BenRiach special edition. It has been matured in a mix of 1st fill bourbon casks and virgin American oak.

The malted barley was peated to 45 ppm. 100 % peated barley goes into this one, so no unpeated barley in the mix.

The BenRiach Smoke Season goes on sale in Norway on May 31 at NOK 829 (12788301).

Nose: Delicious, fluffy, milk chocolate-y clouds of wood smoke. Toasted oak. Warm fudge sauce. With time hints of ashes, earthy vanilla, cracked pepper corn. Hints of herbs as well.

Taste: Full bodied and big! Full-on spices and peaty ashes. Fruity sweetness battling it out with drier notes of oak, spices and smoke.

Finish: Fairly long finish. Delicious smokiness. Sweet licorice mixed in with the chocolate now.

Comment: A peated BenRiach that is very delicious indeed.
