An Aultmore from independent bottled Goldfinch, from their Bodega Series, where all releases have been finished in different types of ex-sherry casks. This whisky was distilled September 2011, finished in a single 1st fill ex-Oloroso sherry hogshead, and yielded a total of 308 bottles.

Not quite sure what to make of the age for this whisky. The label does state 10 years old, but the official product page is very clear on it being 11 years old.

Nose: A light and fruity nose at first. Then I slowly pick up soft oaky notes, earthy vanilla and mild spices. Peaches and ripe grapes.

Taste: Full bodied and rather green in character. Green and medium spicy. There’s fruity sweetness here as well, but the fizzy spiciness stands out.

Finish: Medium long finish. Sweet notes of ripe apple and candy floss now slowly take over. It is very playful and light now.

Comment: A fun shapeshifter of a whisky.
