Another independent bottling of Auchentoshan for you this week. This time a release from Douglas Laing. The Auchentoshan 13 YO Provenance Cask #11176 was distilled in October 2002, and bottled in May 2016.
You can pick up a bottle of the in the UK at just under GBP 50.
Nose: Apples, pears, sugarcubes infused with scented candle oil. After a few minutes I also get mandarine orange, lemon and lime. In other words, it does get quite citrus-y!
Taste: Oily and light mouthfeel. Very fruity - much the same fruits as I found on the nose - yet the citrus do not dominate as much now. A touch of oakiness.
Finish: Medium long. More oaky and nutty on the finish. Still very fruity, and the citrus is front and center.
Comments: A more than decent dram. Quite light, and will benefit from being the first of the evening...
