This is a three year old from Annandale Distillery. Distilled 2015, and bottled 2018. Fully matured in an ex-Oloroso Sherry butt (cask #760). The release was limited to 678 bottles.

Nose: Mild notes of bicycle repair kit. Dried fruits and earthy vanilla. Rich and very appealing really. It really grows on me. Not very smoky at all on the nose.

Taste: Medium body. Bitter-ish and dry-ish in character. Hmm, “green” chocolate notes. Toasted oak and whiffs of smoke.

Finish: Medium to short finish. Bitter-ish still. Green, sugary sweet and fruity. Hints of soot and smoke.

Comment: Not by far as intimidating as the sword on the bottle.
