Amrut Fusion X, 8 YO, 50 %

Released to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Amrut Fusion. Finished in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry butts and limited to 1010 bottles. Bottled December 2020.

Still available in Norway at NOK 4020 (13392801).

Nose: Dark chocolate, honey and toasted oak. Exotic spices. Sandalwood and cigar box. Furniture polish and old leather armchairs.

Taste: Full bodied and attention grabbing. Laser sharp and crisp. Spicy - but delicately so. Fruity - with 360-immersion. Softly smoky and delectably sweet.

Finish: Medium long finish. Sweeter and darker still. The fruitiness is now taking a backseat. Green notes towards the end.

Comment: “A damn fine cup of [whisky], Diane.”
