Amrut 2014 7 YO Ex-Caroni Cask #5144 (for LMdW), 60 %

A single cask release from Amrut Distillery in India, bottled exclusively for La Maison du Whisky (LMdW) in France. Limited to 150 bottles. It was distilled August 2014, and bottled September 2021.

You can still get the Amrut 2014 7 YO Ex-Caroni Cask #5144 in Norway at NOK 1935 (14089901).

Nose: Sweet and earthy notes of orchard fruits and forest floor. In fact, a sweet dunnage warehouse. With time also vanilla, nuts, honey and wet sawdust.

Taste: Full bodied and a little rough around the edges. Rhubarb flavored ice cream with honey and white chocolate drizzle. White pepper and ginger.

Finish: Medium long finish. Rather sweet and fruity still, as well as earthy. Distinctly green towards the end - cut grass and spearmint. Somewhat bitter now.

Comment: Hard to nail down, but keep hammering away and you shall be rewarded.
