Finally we get to experience the bourbon matured siblings of the sherry bombs in the Aberlour A’bunadh Series. This is batch seven of the Aberlour A’bunadh Alba, but the first one to be available in Norway. Where the regular A’bunadh is matured in ex-sherry casks, the Alba is exclusively matured in ex-bourbon barrels.

Nose: Oily and fruity. Ripe apples. Rowan berries. Tropical fruits and vanilla. With time somewhat dusty and oaky.
Taste: Rich, creamy and full bodied. White pepper and some dry oakiness. Hints of citrus in the background.
Finish: Medium long finish. Remains dry, fruity and softly spicy.
Comment: Great to see this side of Aberlour. Honest and charming.
