Here is a real treat from Ireland. The Redbreast 21 YO was released in 2014, and has won numerous awards as the best Irish whiskey and the best Irish single pot still whiskey. It is produced at The Midleton Whiskey Distillery Co.

The Redbreast 21 YO has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and 1st fill oloroso sherry casks.

You can still pick up a bottle online, but it is getting harder to find. Expect to have to pay around € 185 for a bottle.

Nose: Strawberries and fudge. Caramel and lime. Leather and powdered sugar. Tropical fruits. Truly delightful nose!

Taste: Medium body and soft mouthfeel. Light fruits (apples, pineapple), mild spices, caramel ice-cream and a touch of leather.

Finish: Medium long finish. The caramel ice-cream stick with me till the end. Notes of menthol along the way.

Comments: An impressive dram! Quite light and delicate in character, so this shall be your first dram of the evening for you to fully appreciate it.
